Last night I finally saw The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello thanks to Llyn and Iain. It was worth the wait. It's very, very wonderful.

THis morning I woke up to find myself gifted with the DVD. Colour me Shadowlands-happy :)..

This weekend is becoming a reading zone. So far it has included 3 Naomi Novik books (and I've run out of them), one Elizabeth Bear (and I've run out of them) and Lian Hearn. Thank goodness for me I shan't run out of Lian Hearn in the time available. If I do, then I shall read more Ursula le Guin. Or I might read Ursula le Guin anyway, since essays don't occupy the same reading zone as novels.

This was going to be a fun but busy weekend in Sydney. We're all under the weather and it has become very laid back, hence the reading. The cemetery picnic is still on for tomorrow (all welcome - right now there are three of us, busy practising looking all doom and gloomish but really thinking of picnics and the stories behind the names of the dead - one of my students as kindly given me a new Dunbar story, specially for the occasion and it has a happy ending, which is awesome), and this morning was still rather Medieval (workwise). This means I'm having an entirely lovely time.

For the first time since I was ill, I feel as if I'm building reserves rather than drawing on them.
