Women in Science Fiction and Fantasy
Jan. 28th, 2009 02:01 pmI just received (by courier) proof that I am impossibly confused. Or that my mind is entangled in a peculiar maze. Or something.
This is what arrived just now. A wave of heat met me when I opened the security door to receive the parcel. Pages 1-11 are mine. They might be a little controversial. I was so worried that Robin Reid (the editor) checked them very carefully. Now it's too late. They are out there, hiding behind a very pretty cover, spreading ... something.
This is my first publication for 2009. Four others are jostling to come in second. One is non-fiction (and not at all Medieval), one is a short story, one is Masques and one is a novel. You can see why my mind is entangled and confused and maze-lost. I'm not counting web articles in this, just paper. Paper publications are more satisfying, somehow.
What's really curious is that the courier tried to deliver Women in Science Fiction and Fantasy ten minutes after I had left for Melbourne, last week. After much confusion, the delivery came today. Today shiva ended ie I am past the first mourning period when all is miserable. I think it's rather nice that the universe conspired to give me a happiness on the first day in a fortnight that I am really equipped to appreciate it.
