A small merriment and a potential merriment, these are what I have today for you. What I have for me is waiting for boxes to be delivered. I shall tell you when they arrive.

The small merriment is the design a student made for a story. I have permission to post. He said it involved an exhausted James Bond meeting a drunken phouka (in horse form).

"Your eyes are red," said James Bond.

"I am a little under the influence," admitted the phouka. "Ride me anyway. We'll go to town via the lake. It will be pretty." This is where I hope my student will insert heaps of ominous music.

"Can't" said Bond. "Being tired and riding a horse who is under the influence is against the law."

The potential merriment may or may not involve James Bond and/or phoukas. It will definitely involve:

Alma Alexander
Chaz Brenchley
Dave Freer
Geoff Ryman
Jack Dann
Jennifer Fallon
Karen Miller
Kate Elliott
Kate Forsyth
Pamela Freeman
Roberta Gellis
Sally Odgers
Sara Douglass
Sarah Zettel
Sherwood Smith
Simon Haynes
Stephen Hunt
Tony Shillitoe

and a bunch of other writers (including me).

Where is it? Here. Not in my blog, but at your computer. You can find a draft program here.

When is it? This weekend, starting midnight Australia Eastern Summer Time (someone must still think it's summer here.)

Be there! Spread the word!

That last entry went up too soon and I had to edit it. This is because the doorbell buzzer rang.

Books! I have books! I don't get to keep them for long, but I can eye them lovingly while they are with me.

You can get your copy at the Masques launch, Friday week, National Archives of Australia.
