I'm in a snarky dialogue mood. I'm reading through the current work-in progress and wherever I think things can be progressed with the aid of snarky dialogue, I am having a ball and adding just as much snark as a page will hold without dissolving into acid.
Of course, the whole thing need trimming when I discover that I got the plotlines all wrong and the worldbuilding shows through too heavily. There are ways of making worldbuilding sit lightly, but I can only sketch them in at this stage: my new little universe keeps growing. Anyhow, this is a novel that stars an active committee and a disintegrated one, so it deserves to be written in a backwards and forwards and all directions at once committeelike fashion.
What really sad is that it's developing a plot. Snark and plot. Not good. Mind you, I'm only a quarter of the way through. It may develop into something entirely different, by the end. The ghost novel did. The ghost novel that I was supposed to be editing now, when I am actually writing something else. I am so perfidious!
