I'm back online!! Finally, AAPT gave my problem to their tech people and the tech people said 'oops. it is at our end' and said it would be 48 hours and I made them aware that this was 48 hours on top of the lack of access since Friday afternoon and that I used the computer for work and they moved it up and lo, it was fixed in half that time.

Those waiting anxiously for replies to messages, expect them today. Thanks to the friends who let me use their computers, I only have a backlog of 500 emails. When I am all caught up, I shall do a proper post here.

I want to thank Marg and Den - without them, I would not have mae it to the Minicon or through the Minicon. They fed me tea and coffee and lunch and I monopolised their computer the whole of Sunday AND helped with my access problem (we tried a whole new modem). At least I have proven what I claimed - that you don't need to be on a computer you know to enjoy the Minicon!

If anyone's considering participating in an online convention anywhere, anytime, I strongly advise that you register early and check you understnad how things work. If you don't, then get in touch with the admin people ASAP - don't wait. This especially applies to guests. It's hard to help with basics on the day, during your session. In my case it was especially hard because my contact list was on my home computer - I was relying on the contact details people gave on the site. Not everyone checked the email addreses they had linked to the Conflux Minicon. If you provide an address and don't check it, I won't give you extra chcolate at the real Conflux.

And now, off to check some email!
