Sep. 14th, 2009 12:52 amI'm sorting through a few of my notes again, and entering the bits that need to be worked on into the current WIP. This would be an entirely innocuous activity if I hadn't collated some of my teaching notes into my writing notes in a fit of misguided tidying, a few days ago.
I now need to decide what to do with a note that says:
"My other self makes me think differently. Angels were either ungendered or love after death. Lola Montez - I can talk about her: shoulders and hair and clean soft skin.
Each society has its own set of colours that say 'think of sex.' Writers who work across societies have to balance theirs with ours, which is tough."
That was a teaching note. Sometimes I wonder about my teaching. I wouldn't be at all surprised if sometimes other people didn't wonder, also.
