Dear Universe (yes, it's time for a letter to the universe)

I planned all my early morning starts a month before the hard frosts begin, to give myself time to get better. There was really no need for you to bring the frosts forward by so very much. Last night's -3.7 was just a fraction cool for autumn and if you do it again tomorrow (when I have to wake up at un unseemly hour to get to the dentist by 9.15) I shall be unimpressed.

Dear everyone else

When I wake up and find it's unseasonally cold, I promise to take lots of extra asthma medication, rug up warmly, and catch the bus to the interchange rather than walking. I can't avoid walking at the other end, but by then it will be an hour warmer. And my meeting later on (over coffee) will be local and during the warmish part of the day (and will include coffee, not drilling and filling and etceteras - if you want me to explain 'etceteras' I shall, but you will probably regret it. This is the zombie tooth I'm talking about. I have a very good heater in my loungeroom. And if that doesn't help me avoid the asthma atacks that have made my last few days so interesting, I shall give up, breathe heavily and sit by my computer reading Hugo finalists.

This happens every year. I just wasn't expecting it so very early nor that the other stuff would suddenly make me so much more tired. I do hope the northern hemisphere is having a wonderful Spring, in recompense!
