I lit my last for Pesach candles yesterday. You know what this means? I can eat chocolate soon. Very soon. I have some in my fridge and some in my cupboard and some already on my bench. (I'm not going to eat *much* chocolate, but I want choices.)

I'm migraine-y right now and can't work out what has caused it. This is bugging me. Despite it, however, I've already done eight things on my list for the day. I need to finish at least two more before lunchtime though, if I want to catch up on life. Life is worth catching up on.

I just realised that I'm halfway through my list! Most of it was housework, for my new neighbours dropped in. They brought me chocolate. Because they are so wise (and so very young!) I made them borrow a heater. Theirs is playing up, and it gets quite chilly here right now. It's a little fan heater and not enough for winter (which is why I'm not using it), but it will take the edge off the air when they get home.

It took me a while to find it. It turned out to be hidden under the second-last pile of things that I need to sort, post-burglary. It reduces that pile by a significant amount, and makes it less scary. One should always lend heaters to neighbours, for the rewards are manifold.

I've done my shopping for next week and it was all (sadly) healthy. None of the chocolate appealed nearly as much as my stash that only has to wait for me for four more hours. I bought milk and tzatziki (because it was on sale and I'm a lazy sod and can't be bothered making it) and flat bread and yoghourt. Everything else I have or don't need.

Dinner tonight is steak, coriander/lemon rice and salad.

Shopping with a mild migraine* is always an experience. I never know if I'm going to come out laden with things or if it's going to make me think I never want to eat again. Today it was the latter, which is good. Also good is the walking. My body didn't like it, but it has helped things nonetheless.

Now I have just two tasks to do before dinner. One of them involves thinking, because it's the stage before editing. I've received a bunch of comments from my supervisor and I don't agree with them all so I need to think why he has made them and see if there are alternate solutions that will work to make the text better while addressing the issues he points out. This is when my backbrain does the work while I laze luxuriously. This is good, because my aches are telling me that an hour or so in bed will be very handy.

*Shopping with a major migraine involves walking blindly down the aisles, hoping that something useful will result and that I won't actually bump into anyone or any thing. I do not recommend it.

As I have mentioned elsewhere*, my current review book states that Canberra is a coastal city. In honour of this glorious geography**, the person who gives me the most interesting and creative and inventive reason why the author is entirely correct will be sent a postcard of the gloriously sealike (lovingly crafted by engineers and construction workers) Lake Burley Griffin.

All answers by Wednesday. I'll buy the postcard after my next dental appointment, as therapy. I might even post it that same day. Extra points for poetry. Super-duper extra points for funny poetry.

*Twitter is elsewhere. So is my loungeroom. I don't need to remind you that I'm famous in my loungeroom and that all residents therein smile at me almost daily and offer me cups of tea?

**I need to celebrate the students who will believe the book above the map. After all, I was once told by a Swiss banker that Sydney was the capital of Australia. Apparently there are maps in Switzerland that indicate this clearly. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe what I thought were the dulcet tones of magpies is actually the gentle squawk of a gull.
