My new BiblioBuffet article is up and you may notice (if you are a reader of my articles) that it lists some of the books friends here referred me to. Thank you all for that - I was going to write something a lot different ( a book review, in fact) but this was important to say. My other news is that I asked permission today to have a chat with one of the Human Rights Commissioners in the ACT. She said sure, just ring, and I'm about to do that. This is because stuff said by the Catholic schools' representative suggests that the problems with anti-Semitism are a lot deeper than they look and that they hit a lot more communities. It also might explain Pell's original response to the Royal Commission announcement. The advantage of being my age is that I'm a lot more confident than I used to be and so I can ask her what it looks like and maybe tell her why I find the application of canon law to secular society somewhat of a problem. I'll report back here if I can, for I know some of you will want to know more. I will be using what I'm learning now in my next novel - I have decided. If people get their understanding from fiction, then ficiton needs to cover stuff.
