Dec. 5th, 2009 02:26 pmI was chatting online last night and in the middle of a conversation had to go to bed. I missed the friend and can't chat with her for a little, so I'm making cornbread in her honour. It's in the oven now, and looks good. I probably wouldn't have gone the food route if I had remembered to shop this week. Breakfast and lunch are hard when you're running low. Anyhow, now I shall have cornbread for dinner tonight and for brunch tomorrow, and life is good.
I'm nearly a third of the way through the book with the evil cover. I intend to finish it today, come hell or high water, write my review, and never touch any book with such a curiously textured cover ever again. So there. In fact, I have two reviews to write today, and then I'm up to date on all my fiction. This frees up the significant amount of time I need to catch up on my academic reviews. My aim is to have everything up to date by the end of Chanukah, so that I can do other stuff (like party, and watch anime, and do paperwork, and edit, and maybe write) the moment my classes are finished.
Maybe I'll write more entertaining blogposts, too. Or maybe I'll just tell you about cornbread and covers. I didn't normally blog my reading because I read several books a week and I'm lazy. Maybe there's a marketing issue behind annoying covers: I've blogged about this one book far more than about books with perfectly lovely covers.
I have till the cornbread is done to get to page 300. Wish me luck!
